I've seen a few other people make blog posts, or even whole blogs, dedicated to their adventures in certain video games, so I thought it'd be fun to try it myself!
I won't bother going into what a nuzlocke challenge is and all the tiny details (you can read all about that here if you'd like), but here's some of the basics:
Rules:
- I can only catch the first pokemon in each area.
- If a pokemon faints, it's considered "dead" and I can't use it anymore.
Extras:
- I'm going to be naming all of my pokemon, to help create a stronger bond.
- If I black out the run is lost.
- The run is considered won once I defeat the elite four and champion.
- Since I'm playing on an emulator, I'll be using the Universal Pokemon Game Randomizer to make it posible to evolve pokemon that would normally require trading.
- I'll be using the "dupes clause", which means that I can't catch more than one of the same species of pokemon. If my first encounter in a new area is a pokemon that I already have, I have to run away and keep encountering pokemon untill I find one that I don't have.
- Since the Kanto pokedex is smaller than later games in the series, I'll only be counting pokemon of the exact same species to be "dupes", not other members of their evolution line. For example, If I encounter a raticate, and I already have a rattata, I'm still allowed to catch it.
- I hope to make this in to a generationlocke if I'm actually able to win.
So with all of that setup out of the way, let's start our new Pokemon adventure!
