Hi everyone! If you follow my Neocities profile, you've probably noticed that I've been testing a lot of stuff that isn't fully "public" yet. As in, it's not linked on my actual site yet, so regular visitors to the site probably won't see it. All of that will probably take me a little while to finish. I felt a little bad for not posting to the "public" part of my site recently, so I decided to share some doodles with you all today!

A digital illustration of Raticate, Butterfree, and Ivysaur from pokemon. All of them are monochromatic, like their sprites in the original game boy games.

I wanted to draw my team from my nuzlocke of Pokemon Red, but it didn't really turn out the way I planned. Typically, I like to give pokemon I use in the game their own personalities and unique designs when I draw them, but at some point, I gave up and just opted to test out a bunch of new brushes instead. Amaranth the Ivysaur is the only one I managed to give a bit of character to, the others are just redraws of their original sprites.

I did find some cool free brushes on the Clip Studio store. I found that I tend to prefer brushes with a bit more texture to them. I also really like when shading has a dithering-like effect. I think I want to start experimenting with new methods of shading, coloring, and inking this year. I feel like I tend to get stuck in my ways and not experiment as much as I might want to.

Some digital sketches of me, my cat fursona, and younger versions of ourselves. In most of the drawings, the character looks sad, nervous, or blankly staring.

This is a "vent" drawing kind of. I've been thinking about my self-image and younger self a lot lately. I think drawing myself (or at least what I think myself looks like/used to look like) can help with that a little bit.

A bunch of digital sketches done in Microsoft Paint. It includes doodles of some Undertale characters, my fursona, my pokemon persona, and some of my pokemon fan characters.

I've been finding that enjoy sketching more in MS paint than in an actual art program like CSP. I'm not completely sure why, but I've decided to just go with it for now.

I started playing Undertale earlier this month. I got the true pacifist ending on my first run and now I'm afraid to play the rest of the game and get the other endings because I'd have to reset the game and (spoiler alert kinda) that means I'd canonically be spending all the characters back to their shitty timeline or whatever. Is it dumb to not play a game I paid for just because I feel guilty about "harming" fictional characters? Yeah. I can't even think of a continuation of that sentence, it's just dumb, period, but I do it anyway.

Also more drawings of my fursona! The top left one is supposed to be them sucking on a lollipop, but my brother says it looks like they just have a huge gaping mouth. I hope you guys see it as the lolipop instead lol. In the bottom left, I drew them flapping their arms around. I find it very satisfying to draw my personas stimming.

I also drew some pokemon. On the bottom center I drew my unnamed pokesona. I simplified their design quite a bit, because I relized that the origanal had a lot of extra unnesisary details and was a little annoying to draw. On the top right are some attempts at drawing some of my old pokemon fan characters; Zeus the Jolteon, Snorts the Typhlosion, and Nymph the Sylveon!

A bunch of digital sketches done in Microsoft Paint of my cat fursona, Fidget.

Some more doodles of my fursona. The ones with them on the computer (both literally and figuratively, lol) are sketches I'd like to eventually clean up and maybe use on the site. The drawing on the bottom left is supposed to be think playing with a fidget spinner, but I'm not sure how well that came across.

A rough animated gif of Fidget typing on their computer while wagging their tail.

I thought it might be cool to turn this doodle into a very simple animation. As you can probably tell, it's not perfect, but it does give the general idea of what I might want in the future.

That's all I have for now. See ya!
