I already mentioned this briefly in my last entry, but a few weeks ago, I tried growing some flowers and peppers from seeds. It was really hot out, so I give them a lot of water. Since they didn’t grow for a long time after that, I assumed I must have accidentally killed them by over-watering.
Not long after I made that post, I decided to go throw them away, since they’re just useless cups of dirt now, but when I checked on them I saw that my pepper plant was sprouting!

Me and my family had to go out of the own that weekend. I worried that maybe this was just a fluke and my peppers would die while we were gone, but when we got back they’d grown even more! I’m so happy!

Unfortunately, my flowers still aren’t growing at all. I’m not sure if they’re really dead, or just taking a little while to grow, but I’ve been watering them just in case.
I’m really excited! I’m still not 100% sure what I’m going to do with the peppers once they’re ready to eat, but I guess we can cross that bridge when we get there. You can put peppers in basically anything and it’ll taste good, so it shouldn’t be too hard to figure out.
The seed packet said these were “California Wonders” so I’m curious to see if they taste different from the usual peppers we buy at the store. The different “varieties” of garden vegetables always kinda confused me. My mom has a bunch of different tomato plants, which she claims to all be different varieties, but I can’t tell the difference between most of them. I wonder if pepper varieties are the same way.
